RV Awnings

Century Automatic Lateral Arm Awning

As the name implies, the Century is completely automatic. It’s operated by remote control or a wired wall switch and powered by 110 volts through the vehicle’s inverter or shell power. This provides the ultimate convenience to any RV owner. In its fully opened position, there are no arms to obstruct your enjoyment of the patio area underneath. For safety, a wind or shake sensor is provided with every awning that will automatically close your awning if a gentle breeze turns into a dust devil. With all components tucked safely into the attractive casing, your awning is safe from the elements even at high-speed highway driving.

Outstanding Features

  • Single touch open and close operation from either a handheld remote or a fixed wall switch.
  • Stop function that allows you to use your awning in any position between closed and fully open.
  • A wind or shake sensor that automatically closes your awning when the wind exceeds a safe limit.
  • A manual override that allows you to open or close your awning by hand in case of a loss of power.
  • Attractive aluminum housing assembled with stainless steel fasteners.
  • High-quality Sunbrella® fabric.

Benefits

Stronger Awning Structure

The Century awning meets the tough German TUV safety tests. This is a stringent testing process that exists in no other country in Europe.

Proven Automatic Controls

We provide a complete electronic control package including wall switch, remote control, and anemometer function.

Lower Roof Profile

With only 5-1/2″ height (including mounting brackets), the Century gives you a sleek design rising no higher than your other rooftop components.

Now available in longer sizes

Sizes – The Century box awning is now available in the following sizes and extensions.

  • 5-foot Extension in sizes from 8 feet, up to 33 feet
  • 10-foot Extension in sizes from 13 feet, 2 inches, up to 33 feet

In addition to your patio shade coverage, the Century is also available in a 5-foot extension to provide shade over your roadside slideouts or windows. Although the Century box is attractive and streamlined by itself, special end fairings are available for certain coaches from both Zip Dee and a number of custom-converters that make the awning virtually invisible.

As with any mechanically sophisticated accessory that is attached to your vehicle, there are restrictions and conditions that are required for the installation. The basic installation is simple: two or three mounting plates are placed on the roof and secured to the underlying rib structure along the area where the awning box is to be installed. The awning box is placed on and secured to these mounting plates. AC power is fished from the source (inverter) to a controller mounted on the roof or in a cabinet and the awning motor is connected to the controller. Although no structural changes to the vehicle are required, a good knowledge of coach wiring and electricity is necessary to bring power to the roof to operate the awning. In this regard, we do suggest a professional service center or converters. These service centers can also answer any question about the possible movement of roof obstructions and any other service work you may need at the time of installation.
